NEWS: Cleaning Pros Now Use Vinegar to Save Money (4 Hacks)

Have you ever used vinegar for cleaning?

Vinegar is one of the best products you could ever have in your home. Besides making your food taste better (if you have no idea where you can use it, a summer salad made with peeled cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, a bit of olive oil, and a teeny-tiny splash of vinegar is going to become your favorite), vinegar is also great for cleaning.

Whether you want to make your workout clothes fresh again, make a natural ant repellent, get rid of annoying odors, condition your hair so it’s silky smooth and shiny again, unclog your drains, or spruce up your home, this liquid is definitely a household staple.

I know, it doesn’t exactly sound like a magic ingredient, given its stinky and strong smell, but it works wonders, I promise you. I tested every single cleaning hack on this list, and let me tell you that this might easily replace all those fancy and not-so-budget-friendly cleaning products I typically go for.

Without further ado, here are some great ways to clean your home on a budget, using vinegar. I’m pretty sure you’re going to like them, so don’t go anywhere and read along with me until the end of this article.

1. Garden, garage, and yard

If you want to freshen up your garden, garage, and yard, all you need to do is use a splash of vinegar to make everything clean and crisp. You can easily clean your wiper blades by rubbing them with a soft cloth and undiluted vinegar a couple of times.

If you have any bird feeders outdoors and you’re looking for an easy way to clean them up, the process is quite simple: wash them as usual with some gentle dish soap, then make a mixture of 50-50 water and vinegar, pour it in a spray container, and spray a couple of times on those feeders to disinfect them. Allow the solution to do its magic for a couple of minutes, rinse with water, wipe, and you’re done.

But what if you have some white stains on your lovely terracotta pots? You can easily get rid of them by wiping everything down with a soft cloth and undiluted vinegar. When you’re done with that, allow them to dry, and the spots shouldn’t be there anymore.

However, if you deal with some annoying stains, grab your terra cotta pots and soak them in a bowl that is filled with a 50-50 ratio of water and vinegar, and they should be gone in a couple of minutes.

2. Make your bathroom sparkle

Thanks to the acidity this miraculous ingredient has, it’s absolutely amazing for cutting through grime. In simpler words, this magical solution is actually diluted acetic acid, and it works like a dream in many, many situations, as you can already see.

However, it’s very strong, which means that it can easily damage your beloved floors, like granite and marble, so pay attention to that. If you’re not sure whether it’s going to work on natural stones or not, you can test it on a small area, talk to the surface manufacturer and ask for their opinion, or simply avoid using it completely.

However, if you’re looking for a fast way to clean up your bathtub, shower, or sink, just take a sponge and scrub with vinegar, then rinse well, and you’re done. And if there is some soap scum you have and you don’t know how to get rid of it faster, add some vinegar and dish detergent, wait a few minutes, wipe, and rinse, rinse, rinse.

You can also clean your light fixtures with vinegar. Just grab a soft cloth, dip it in vinegar, and wipe away any dirt and scum. Easy, effective, and fast! My favorite cleaning combination.

3. Give your kitchen a fresh touch up

Let’s talk about how you can easily make your kitchen look its best in no time and with not that many cleaning solutions. As I already told you, vinegar is definitely going to become your new favorite household item.

You’re ready to go to sleep on a weekend evening; you’re feeling relaxed and warm, and you think that a warm cup of tea is going to help you sleep better. You get up from the couch, put some slippers on, and head to your kitchen to make yourself a cup of delicious tea. But your wish is ruined when you notice that your teakettle has mineral deposits or lime all over it.

Don’t be upset; you can get rid of them by the morning. Just grab your vinegar bottle and boil 3 cups of this magical liquid. Put it in your kettle and allow it to sit overnight. When you wake up, rinse and wash your gadget with a soap dish, and now you can make your tea.

What about your fridge, cutting boards, and coffeemaker?

If your fridge needs a deep cleaning session, you can quickly get it done by making a mixture of 50-50 water and vinegar and wiping down everything. Don’t forget to pay attention to the interior of your bins, because they need a little wiping too.

If your coffeemaker doesn’t work as it’s supposed to, add a cup of water and a cup of our fantastic natural cleaning solution and let it run. Then run some filtered water so your machine can rinse and be ready for your coffee.

Whether you like it or not, each time you cut veggies, fish, cheese, or meat on your cutting boards, dirt and bacteria will find ways to live in all those tiny holes. But you can get rid of them by spraying some white vinegar to disinfect the entire surface. Another great thing about using this solution is that it will get rid of any unwanted odors, which means bye-bye smelly fish!

4. Every room in your home

I wasn’t kidding when I told you that vinegar is going to become your home staple. It can literally help you clean approximately every inch of your home, which is always great for saving money and time.

If your drains are a bit clogged and you’re not willing to call a pro, you can do it the old-school way, which means a little DIY project. Put 1/2 a cup of baking soda down your drain, then add 1/2 a cup of vinegar. These 2 elements will create a chemical reaction that will start bubbling and fizzing.

While the mixture is doing its job, boil some water in your freshly cleaned kettle and pour it down the drain. After that, let the hot water from the ap run down for a few seconds to a minute, and you’re done.

If you notice that you’re left with some annoying spots each time you clean your windows and mirrors, and have no idea how to get rid of them, grab a spray bottle and combine equal parts water and vinegar. Spray it on the surface you want to clean, wipe it off, and it should be sparkling.

As for your air conditioner and humidifier filters, you can soak them in a solution made out of equal parts vinegar and water for a couple of minutes. When they’re clean, take them out, rinse them, and allow them to dry.

If you’re looking for high-quality and budget-friendly vinegar, say no more, because Amazon has this amazing one that you’re definitely going to love. Try it out and let me know in the comment section if you enjoyed cleaning with it or not.
