6 Ridiculously Expensive Things You’ll Find at Aldi

What are the most expensive things you’ll find at Aldi? Check the list here:

Ugh, did someone just say expensive? By simply hearing this word, a lot of people slowly back away, and for a reason. In the past years, everything has been so overpriced that it would be good if we could have lived without money. Jokes aside, because this isn’t exactly possible, we must adapt to these times.

In most cases, if you want to score good deals, as an American, you go to Costco, Walmart, Trader Joe’s, and Aldi. But what do we do when we get to one of these locations and we still can’t “touch” various products because of how much they cost?

Even if they appear to be priced fairly, many products may be bought for far less in another store. Just because Aldi is a store known for its attractive discounts doesn’t mean that every product has cheaper prices there. You must be careful when comparing pricing to other brands and retailers if you truly want to save money (don’t forget to compare sizes, too!).

Since we care about our readers, we did our homework and compiled a list of some of the most expensive things you’ll find at Aldi:

  • Deodorant from Aldi

We can’t think of a more vital item (besides food) than deodorant. Only if you want to go all-natural or be a bit stinky during the summertime. But in the past few months, prices for even no-name ones have skyrocketed.

Well, with regret, we must say that one of the most expensive things you’ll find at Aldi is deodorant. This is probably no surprise for many of you who go to Aldi very often, but for those who don’t, none of those deodorants are cheaper at Aldi than at other retailers, particularly when they’re on sale or you may receive a discount. This is because the retailer doesn’t accept coupons.

If you want to score a better price for your favorite deodorant, you may want to start looking at places like CVS or Walgreens where they’re way less expensive. Just make sure you’re signed up for their rewards program, which is free to join at any point.

  • Aldi’s meat

In most cases, if you want to buy good-quality meat, it’s recommended to go to a steakhouse. But there, the prices may be a bit too much for the average American. So what do we do? We go to regular discount stores and browse until we find something that we and our family enjoy eating.

We don’t want to spoil this for you, but Aldi’s meat selection isn’t always reliable. Aldi’s regular prices are higher than those of many rival grocery shops. However, compared to Trader Joe’s, for example, which never puts their items on sale, Aldi has the biggest advantage. If you’re loyal to Aldi and you want to buy your meat from them, pay attention to discounts to score a great deal.

You can’t always count on getting the meat you want at a price that fits your budget because not all types of meat are featured in the store’s weekly special deals. Since meat is also one of the more expensive things you’ll find at Aldi, we advise you to compare the prices with the regular stores in your area. You may be surprised to find that it is more affordable!

  • Aldi’s bacon

Who doesn’t like bacon? Honestly! It goes with anything from eggs to burgers and even pasta. Oh, pasta! But the only issue in this equation is that bacon can be very expensive, and not everybody can afford to buy it.

But one thing is for sure: never settle for the first product you see, even if it’s one from your favorite store! Compare prices at Aldi and Walmart for similar uncured bacon (bacon cured by soaking in natural brines rather than by adding nitrates to the mixture).

While we recognize Aldi’s advantages in the meat department, the retailer finds it difficult to compete with Walmart’s renowned low prices. Walmart is selling packs of bacon for as little as $3.24. Aldi, on the other hand, will charge you 65 cents more by selling it for $3.89. Please keep in mind that these prices were available at the moment of speaking, but they may differ from one store to another, so check them twice before buying.

Recall that you don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy the things you want when you want them. Basic food items don’t have to be expensive.

  • Aldi’s chilled dough

Who’s up for some sticky buns on a Sunday morning? They match perfectly with a good cup of coffee. But where can we buy chilled dough at a reasonable price? For sure, not from Aldi’s!  Despite Aldi’s reputation for offering great deals, you should stay away from buying refrigerated dough from them for the same reasons you shouldn’t purchase Coke or Kellogg’s cereal: there are better deals on well-known brands elsewhere.

Popular brand chilled dough has a greater chance to be bought at traditional supermarkets because manufacturer coupons and store-wide promotions can further accelerate savings. Plus, it will be more affordable!

Every self-described lover of a good deal uses this tactic, and it hasn’t failed us yet! Would you follow our tricks too? Keep reading because the article isn’t over yet and you won’t believe what’s next.

  • Aldi’s toothbrushes

According to dentists, you should replace your toothbrush at least every three months, so buying good-quality ones at affordable prices is very important. Especially for frugal people! Well, among all the expensive things you’ll find at Aldi, toothbrushes are on top too. Check out Amazon if you’re looking to get a decent bargain on toothbrushes. Generic brands are available here for about $9.59 for a pack of two.
Store-brand Dentiguard toothbrushes at Aldi cost around 52 cents each, so people on a budget should avoid these. Do you find it hard to believe us? If so, you can click here to view the complete range of products.

  • Aldi toiletries

Generally speaking, consumers don’t mind purchasing generic brands for items like mouthwash, shampoo, and soap. Particularly if you have a large family that uses a single, large bottle of shampoo. If you recognize yourself in these lines, then you’re probably on your way to Aldi to add all their generic brand toiletries because they’re super affordable. Nope, just wait a bit! One of the most expensive things you’ll find at Aldi is the toiletries. Their price isn’t only huge, but it’s even more expensive compared to other stores that have a better selection of products.

Instead of setting for less, go and make a quick round at your nearest neighborhood store. As with other products we’ve mentioned here, you may be surprised that toiletries will be cheaper there.
