Amex comes with several shopping options for different points redemptions. First things first, we have the company’s own shopping portal, which has hundreds of retailers on it. Second, Amex lets you pay with points when you shop on specific retail partners’ websites, like Amazon, Best Buy, and Grub Hub.
You will have to add your Amex card to the site and select your points when you check out. And third, you can easily redeem additional Amex points for gift cards.
These aren’t really the worst ways in which you can use your points, especially if you need to stock up on travel supplies or clothes for the next trip, even if they might be the typically lower-value redemptions, especially compared to travel partner transfers.
Donate the points to charity.
Even if you don’t get monetary value out of this kind of redemption, you can still get some emotional value. You can simply donate to charities with points through the website at any redemption value of 0.7 cents per point.
