Those manufacturer coupons are worth it!
And they are not a secret either. You just have to be careful and find them in inserts and newspapers. We know what you are thinking: why should you bother with coupons when things at the Dollar Tree are already $1.25 for the most part? Well, when you get a 50 cent coupon, you get about a 40% discount on that item. Not to mention, if you end up finding a $1 coupon, that item ends up being almost free!
It may seem weird, but when you think about it, you can rack up a discount that is going to be pretty big, and in the long run, it will save you a pretty penny. If you are getting more $1.25 items, then at one point you will end up spending quite a bit since it seems like everything is so cheap, but they do add up. Using these already-available coupons will make sure you don’t pay more than you need to.
Just keep in mind a few things, since the Dollar Tree does have a fine print coupon policy:
- You cannot use more than one coupon per item, so you cannot use more manufacturer coupons for one item;
- You can use as many coupons as you can for one transaction, so you can use coupons for all your items if you have them;
- However, you can only use a maximum of four identical coupons for one transaction.
And needless to mention, if you have a coupon that’s for more than the value of the item, you are not going to get money back from them, just the item for free!
Did anyone say newspaper Sunday?
Are you wondering where you can get those manufacturer coupons from? In the end, everyone can talk big about what they use and how they use it, but where can you get it from? Of course, you can find them in the Sunday paper, but it is important where you get them as well. So, skip the newsstand!
It seems surprising, but you can actually buy the Sunday newspaper from the Dollar Tree, and you will be happy to hear that you will be able to get it at a discounted price as well. In certain areas, it can be even three times cheaper! The tricky part is knowing which Dollar Tree stores have them and which do not, and what their policies are about it.
Some may not carry them, and others will not let you get more than three newspapers. Either way, if your local store doesn’t, you can still get those manufacturer coupons from wherever you get your Sunday paper from.
Make sure you know when they restock!
This one is important, and we will not bore you with any smart sayings about how the earlier you are, the better the deals are. We all know how these things work, especially from how Black Friday was in the early 2000s. In order to get the best deals out there, you need to know when the restock happens so you can find the shelves full instead of half or even completely empty.
But how can you get that information, you ask? It is easy! All Dollar Trees restock about once a week, and how often they get new shipments depends on how big the store is and how much demand there is in the area. It makes sense in the end, because if people do not buy things, then shipments will be slower.
The best way to find out when the shipments will come in is to try your luck and ask one of the employees at your local store. If anything, it never hurts to be friendly with the staff; you can easily find out more things like that if they are willing (or allowed to share). Otherwise, most restocks happen after hours or early before opening day since they want to start with their shelves full.
So give yourself the best chance at finding all the deals you want and do some morning shopping!
What NOT to buy here!
Knowing what to buy and how to buy it is almost as important as knowing what not to buy. After all, we can all tell when we see a good deal, but sometimes the low prices at the Dollar Tree are not as good as they may seem at first glance. Don’t get us wrong, their products are generally amazing, but knowing what not to get may save you some more money than you think.
The secret to determining if the deal is good or not is to consider the quantity of the product you are getting alongside its unit price and the quality of it. You may also want to be prepared to make some price comparisons before you end up shopping and buying things.
For example, unless you’re in a pinch, it may not be a great deal to buy toothpaste at the Dollar Tree. For something like Crest toothpaste, if you get a coupon, you can end up getting it from CVS or Walgreens for up to 60% cheaper, if not even up to 90% cheaper, depending on the coupon you find! Just because they have great prices, in general, doesn’t mean you should give up trying to see where you can get things cheaper in other places.
Other items to steer clear of besides toothpaste include cereal and many other name-brand items. They’re just worth it, especially since you’re already using coupons for Dollar Tree. Just use the coupons at other stores as well and get yourself everything you need for a bargain!
If you’re in a pinch and are looking for great deals online, make sure that you check Amazon’s deals page!
Read that fine print!
This goes for most things in life, but it is also very true when you are shopping at the Dollar Tree, especially when you are dealing with coupons. The fine print is more important than you would think, and we wouldn’t want you to end up disappointed because you did not realize that there were some limitations to the item you wanted to buy.
For this, you need to read the fine print on the coupons since the limitations can vary by product, and some of them you may not even think about. Some of the manufacturer’s coupons mention quantity or size limitations, which may end up disqualifying the ones you can find at the Dollar Tree. That can happen because they carry some odd sizes or even some smaller sizes that are made specifically for dollar stores, so your coupon may not end up being good.
As an example, the Dollar Tree carries Finish dishwashing pods, and you may have found a coupon for those. Unfortunately, you wouldn’t be as lucky as you would think, cause most of the coupons those manufacturers give out are for the 22-count pack or even the bigger ones, and the ones that the Dollar Tree carries are the 4-count packs! And other items may have similar limitations in the fine print, so make sure you give it a good read!
Holiday discounts!
Yes, you read that right. Everyone already knows that you can get the best bang for your buck when it comes to seasonal decorations at the Dollar Tree (though maybe you can find cheaper gift bags elsewhere when it comes to price per unit), but we are here to talk to you about getting even better deals for holiday items after the holiday.
Of course, you can find all the candy discounts at all the stores after the date has already passed, but at the Dollar Tree, you can find those 50% off deals on already discounted name-brand candies! Think about it like this: if you could already get those Sour Patch Kids or Starburst packs for a deal before they are 50% off the next day after Halloween, it gives you even more reasons to restock your snack shelves after the holiday.

BOGO deals!
Yep, those coupons do work at the Dollar Tree; you just have to make sure you know how to use them. The catch is that you cannot get those two items for free; you have to end up paying for one of them. So it is simple: you can buy one, get one free, as long as you have the coupon, and you end up paying for one of the items.
And remember what we said about stacking coupons? You can have a coupon for the item and a BOGO coupon, so you can get two items extra discounted! And when we are talking about non-perishable items, these coupons are the best thing. Just think about it! You’re supposed to replace your toothbrush every three months, and you can get two multipacks with a BOGO coupon for the price of one!
That’s an easy deal you cannot miss!
Free pain relief?
Indeed, you can get pain relief medication easily and in the most affordable way at the Dollar Tree. They do carry a lot of your normal over-the-counter medication, and you can get them for pretty cheap prices on the regular. Things like aspirin, ibuprofen, pain relievers, and sleeping aids for just a buck at your closest dollar store! Sometimes they also have a BOGO offer for those, so who knows? Maybe you get lucky!
The luckiest you can get is to find a $2 off coupon for a bottle of Tylenol! Not only is that a deal in itself, but when you couple it with the fact that you get it from the Dollar Tree, you end up getting it for free! There’s nothing better than free pain relief!
Keep in mind that it is the active substance that helps you ease pain or any discomfort you are tackling, not the brand on the bottle. So if the bottle says ibuprofen and not Tylenol, it’s just as good and may even be cheaper overall!
How about some sandwiches?
If you’re going on a hike or on a road trip, you will need to put them in something. And while lunch boxes are a great alternative, sometimes we do not have the space in the backpack for such bulky items. Which is why you need to be able to count on some sandwich bags! Dollar Tree has some amazing deals for these; you just need to keep your eyes peeled for those sweet, sweet coupons!
You may end up finding a Glad sandwich coupon that can give you $1 off your purchase, and just like that, you walk out of the Dollar Tree with a pack of sandwich bags (or more) for just $0.25! This is in addition to the fact that you can use sandwich bags for a lot of things, not just sandwiches. Small containers, packing, organizing your shelves—they are multipurpose!
