Let’s talk about the expensive ones first!

1. New York

As beautiful and fashionable as the state of New York is, there’s something that makes many retirees stay away from it: extensive grocery shopping. And not just that, but it’s one of the most costly states in the entire country, and not everyone’s a billionaire, right? Well, I’m joking, it’s not that bad.

But if you’re planning on purchasing an apartment there, get ready to spend a lot of money, because a single-bedroom apartment, for instance, is going to cost you more than 1 million dollars. Can you believe it?

But hey, it’s no surprise that the food is going to be fancy and overpriced, right? Brooklyn and Manhattan, for instance, might be a little more affordable compared to SoHo or Manhattan, but they still charge their customers big time.

Speaking of Manhattan, some studies actually discovered that it’s so expensive that grocery shopping is almost 40% above the national average. If you have a lot of money to spend, go ahead and move to New York!

In NYC, for instance, a dozen eggs are going to cost you no less than $6.70, while half a gallon of milk is probably going to be around $3. It’s pretty costly, right?
