2. Hawaii
Oh, the gorgeous state of Hawaii! The place where the sky meets the ocean, the world is having fun, nature is the human’s best friend, and the grocery shopping prices are crazy! Such a beautiful place.
We can say that as breathtaking as this entire state is, it’s just as expensive. Trust me when I tell you that you’ll pay big time for all those wonderful landscapes you see each day. When you enter a grocery store, expect to pay no less than $6 for a dozen eggs and over $4 for half a gallon of milk.
Even the regular things are overpriced. If a regular Coke is about $1.25 in the majority of states, it’s probably going to be a bit over $3 in Hawaii, so keep that in mind when you put this state on your retirement moving idea list.
