Personally, I was expecting California to be in the first place on this list, considering that a lot of famous people are living there and they probably raise the living costs. But it is not as expensive as New York is, and that makes me happy, especially considering that I love laying under the palm trees and visiting these amazing places every time I have the chance.

Of course, Los Angeles and Beverly Hills are 2 of the cities that are surely the first ones you think of when you hear the word California, but Oakland and San Francisco are also pretty expensive.

Their grocery shopping prices are between 35 and 40% overpriced compared to other grocery stores in the US, which means that for a dozen eggs, you could pay no less than $5, while a half-gallon of milk is going to be around $3.
