Bakery Items
Costco’s cherished bakery section is beginning to feel the effects of increasing ingredient costs. Tariffs on dairy, wheat, and sugar imports are making it more pricey to produce fan-favorite items like croissants, muffins, and cakes.
Customers who love Costco’s bulk-sized bakery delights might notice higher prices or even smaller portion sizes. Some folks might begin baking at home to save some extra cash, but that comes with its own costs. If this mega store’s bakery is a regular part of your grocery trip, be prepared for price changes on this common Costco product.
Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Butter
If you love European-style butter, you’re probably a big fan of Costco’s Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Butter. It can’t be beaten for the quality and price.
But don’t forget that it’s a product of New Zealand, which now has an instated 10% reciprocal tariff on exports to the United States. The good news is that this is at the low end of the tariffs. New Zealand’s finance minister said the country will not retaliate with in-kind tariffs on US goods recently.
So, the tariff will likely remain at 10%. Still, this could hike up the price of this standard Costco product unless Costco absorbs the costs to keep its consumers happy.
