1. Vinyl
Who has even thought that people will start listening again to vinyl records? Well, they are in high demand nowadays, and there are even national vinyl-related events held annually. For instance, there’s a national event called Record Store Day where seniors and hipsters alike stand in line for special deals on sought-after vintage vinyl and limited-released titles.
So, if you have in your basement copies of classics like U2’s “The Joshua Tree Collection” (boxed set, out in 1982) or The Beatles’ “The Collection” (boxed set, released in 1982), there are many people who are dying to have them in their hands.
Now, it’s hard to say what your old vinyl records may be worth. According to experts, some records aren’t worth more than 50 cents, while limited-edition ones can command thousands of dollars.

I have 3 or 4 items I would like to know how to sell them. Where do I go to see what they are worth if anything.
Google any results of auctions of the items you have. That’s what I did and found out an old campbells soup sign sold for 16000$. Mine was in better shape and sold for 19000$

Try looking them up on eBay.
Hi. I started selling on eBay around 1997 and really got into it for a long time. What I would do is to go to eBay, and enter a search for your item. This will bring up active items which can NOT be trusted to come up with approximate values as many items have been listed at insane prices and 2nd hand shops LOVE to quote these prices as what this is going for. The only value that you can trust is the price that was actually paid by a winning auction bidder.
That’s easy to get though. When you’re on the auction page for your item just go to the left hand side of the page and select the filter that says completed and/or sold. That way you get the end result of these auctions.

I got three large boxes of the original Star Wars stuff that’s never been opened or out of the box. I forgot it was there and just found it. I got it when the base was getting rid of it all when they were closing down. I bought 3 shopping carts full for the kids and put it away. Then we moved and the rest is history. Never even looked at it.
Don’t open the boxes!

Hello
Yes I have several items I would like to sell at the top of the list is an extensive stamp collection but where would I find a legit estimator to give me. Fair price!
I have old Paintings from 1902 and so on. Listed artists. Don’t know where to go to get some kind of estimates on them to sell them.
I have a Playboy Mug. Do you know how much it would be?
I have records that predate vinyl
I believe that these are actually made of some sort of shellac material. They are also only ‘pressed’ on one side. They also predate album covers.
Does anyone have any information on value of these? TIA
I have a large collection of vintage Playboy magazines. The one Christmas issue with Pamela Anderson sitting on Dan Akroyd’s lap (dressed as a Conehead) has a value between $7,500 and $10,000 according to some sources. I have 2 of that issue. I just don’t know how to sell it or where.
I was curious, so I went to ebay and did a search for ‘Playboy Conehead’ and found the issue you’re talking about. And then I chose the sort order of highest price first. Just as you said, this immediately showed a current auction for that issue priced at $9,000. But THAT price is meaningless since it is merely what they are asking. You need to look up auctions that have completed successfully and that’s easy to do.
Go to the far left of the auction listings and there are a lot of filters you can choose. Select ‘sold’ and/or ‘completed’ and you’ll find what people have actually paid for this issue. When I did this, the highest successful auction for this copy was $199. So, I would expect that is a reasonable estimate of the ACTUAL value of your issues. Condition makes a huge difference too so take that into consideration. Best of luck.
I have a full sheet of Elvis Presley postage stamps. Where to sell them in Minneapolis MN?
Dear Carla: Please inform us all as to how to find these auctions. Are there any points of contact you might share? The only guidance you point us to is eBay.

I think there might be a site or two that offer “appraiser” listings. People who will evaluate and appraise the value of an item. See if there’s anyone local or in a nearby city, then make an appointment.
Also see if there are any of those on-the-road style appraisers that can help find out how much some things you have might be worth.
Just tossing some ideas out there. I’m trying to find a way to sell a few of my own stock of stuff too.
I have lots of old pyrex baking dishes and one huge “yellow” bowl that I’ve been told is a collector’s item. My 9 room house is full of so many “old” and pretty things but…..I’m 90 and don’t know how to do what’s necessary to sell online. I would pay a commission to anyone would would do this for me. Is there such a person?
