Here comes the second half of the year buying guide!

We have already discussed the first six months of the year in the previous article, so now we turn our attention to the second half of the year! (If you haven’t read the first part, check it out here!)

While it can be stressful to know what to buy and what not to buy all year round since things change from one year to another, certain time periods have proven to be the best when it comes to certain types of purchases.

Since the second half of the year has some of our country’s biggest holidays, there are bound to be amazing shopping deals and some of the year’s best times for big purchases due to how massive some price cuts are!

If you are ready to discover which month offers you the best deals for what products and how you can further optimize your shopping so you shop smarter, not harder, make sure you keep on reading!

July

July starts well, with the Fourth of July sales and Amazon Prime Days being two of the biggest sale events of the summer. If you have been keeping an eye out to be able to replace the likes of big electronics and major appliances, then this is the time to do it.

The likes of fridges and laptops are the most notable electronics that you should aim for, with the appliances reserved for Fourth of July sales and the electronics for Amazon Prime Day. You can see some stores that are going to offer you as much as 40% off.

Since July is the start of the height of summer heat, you should also make sure that your dehumidifier is up-to-date and can hold up to the possible moist environment that you can find yourself in.

Humidity over 50% is the best breeding ground for mildew, mold, and dust mites, you should check yours and see if you need to upgrade your model.

July is one of those months when dehumidifiers are going on sale, with up to 50% price drops seen!

Another thing you need to not worry about this month is picnic supplies. Due to the big 4th of July party, you can expect to see everything picnic-related go down in price, including all sorts of picnic supplies for the best family outing days!

August

August, while being one of the hottest months of the year, also comes with end-of-season sales and clearance sales. Not to mention, you can make the most of all the back-to-school offers on a lot of office supplies, summer clothes staples, arts and crafts, and DIY materials, among many others.

What else you would keep an eye out for are Apple products; they are known to have sales due to the back-to-school sales generally, and this is the best month to replace your Mac or AirPods if you need to.

Likewise, if your patio looks like it requires a makeover, do not redo all of it! You may be able to give it a new look and vibe if you change your furniture.

This month is the best one to get some new patio furniture since retailers are looking to get rid of old stock, so you will be able to find it at quite a price cut. The one drawback is that the selection you may have could very well be smaller than usual since it is a sale for leftover stock in most stores.

Another item you may benefit from getting this month if you are living in a state that gets a lot of snow during the winter months is a snow blower.

We know it’s the end of summer and copious amounts of snow are not on your mind, but experts suggest that this is the best moment of the year to get one before the cold months arrive and you face the possibility of being snowed in.

September

School starts, and this month also brings about Labor Day, which comes around with its own round of sales. However, the rooster for this month is a bit different and peculiar if you look at the combo.

The items that are known to be the best to buy in September include the likes of grills, washer and dryer sets, and, surprisingly, hot tubs.

Since summer is ending, grills and grill tool sets are going on sale, so retailers can get rid of as much of the stock they have as they can. Not to mention, if you are not picky about the brand or style of grill, you may be able to score some amazing deals before the season ends for good and replace your old one!

What’s more, if you have been thinking of adding a hot tub to your patio, now is the time. The cold season is approaching, and you can get an early start at a better price!

On the other end, you may be able to get really good deals on air conditioners since the hot season is technically over. A good tip is to find one that has both a cooling and a heating option so you can use it as needed all year round!

October

The middle of fall comes around with a need to turn on the heater during temperature drops, and sales are also coming along to match this need!

October is the best month to get a new thermostat, as they are going to most likely be on sale for Columbus Day. One that experts recommend is a smart one, like the Google Nest, which can help you save money and energy in the upcoming winter months.

Other items that are extremely useful and are going on sale this month include cookware, which is great to get now so you can prepare for the holiday season, and the likes of smoke detectors.

You can never know when you will be faced with a fire hazard, and it is better to be safe than sorry.

Likewise, if you are an adventurer at heart, October is a great time to invest in or upgrade your RV, with prices starting to go down for fall and winter.

In the same manner, home prices start to go down during this period as well, so if you’re looking for real estate, this month may be the best one to start seriously considering buying.

November

November comes along with the start of the holiday season, along with two of the biggest sales events of the year: Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

These two end up making this month the best one to buy seemingly anything, since not only are you going to be able to find amazing prices, but anything we haven’t mentioned so far is going on sale this month.

The likes of bakeware, streaming devices, and small appliances are the ones that are most overlooked during this period, so you should be keeping an eye out for them.

A lot of people are going to be trying to get the best prices for the big appliances and expenses around the home, so you should expect to see quite a lot of people joining in the sale hunt, so be careful not to miss out on any price reductions and deals!

Other item categories to keep in mind for this period, as they always get great prices, include the likes of coffee makers, TVs, and all types of furniture!

December

The time to check the list and check it twice arrives in December, and when it comes to spending, this month may just take the cake. However, when we talk about all the big items and gifts, we already know there are going to be Christmas deals on a lot of products.

But what you may not think or know about is that December is the best month to invest in the likes of multicookers and air fryers (which can also make amazing gifts), along with bigger items such as home security cameras.

Some of the appliance discounts from Black Friday and Cyber Monday roll over to December, and you can end up making the most of them when it comes to buying gifts!

What’s more, if you have been thinking about getting a new car, this is the time. Experts say that you can expect discounts up to 6% (which for anything else may not be much, but for cars, it is a lot), along with deals from dealers. Some of them include incentives such as cashback, 0% financing, and deferred payments!
