3. How many Prime members are out there?

Prime membership was launched in 2005, and since then it has become extremely popular among Amazon customers. And we get why. They have special offers and also free shipping, and the orders are delivered in a short amount of time, usually the same day.

But since this is such a big thing, many of you wonder how many Prime members are out there. Earlier this year, the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, stated that there are 100 million Prime members. But this number is the worldwide one. According to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, there are 90 million Prime members in the United States.

Moody’s Investors Service says that they think 85 million Prime members are not accurate, with 50 million of them being from the US. As you can see, there is not a clear answer, making this one of the Amazon myths we can’t debunk. One thing that remains clear is that the service will probably get more and more popular, so next year it will have more than 100 million users.
